MOA – Museum Of Anthropology, UBC

The Museum of Anthropology at the University of British Columbia campus in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada is renowned for its displays of world arts and cultures, in particular works by First Nation band governments of the Pacific Northwest.
I attended the opening of the new Gallery of Northwest Coast Masterworks. There was free admission for this event so of course I went. While I appreciated the free admission the line up to get in the new gallery of the inaugural exhibition, In a Different Light: Reflecting on Northwest Coast Art was so long, I was unable to get in a timely manner. I was also able to enjoy and Hear musical performances from DJ Kookum, contemporary cellist Cris Derksen, DJ O Show . the line up for a glass of wine was too long as well, so I didn’t imbibe on this occasion.

Did you know: MOA houses 38,000 ethnographic objects, as well as 535,000 archaeological objects in its building alone.

I definitely want to go back, I think this is one place that is worth the price of admission.
